Everyone around cuts some logs and tidies them up as marvellous graphic walls along the chalets.
At Les Eucherts, we met someone who even has got a choping machine. Machines are also useful to fix the roads before winter.
Each summer, we need to fill the wholes made by the snow. Who could believe that this track will soon become a white carpet to snowshoes hike?
Some will nearly be cut off from the world. They must change their 4×4 for a snowplow: quite exotic!
Time is flying: let’s finish duties!
Up-hill people do create aesthetic environment. If the structure is modern, the chalets still wear their traditional stones.
They keep on building old balconies on the southern façade, even if now it’s much more a leisure place.
Even the wooden valances decorate the roof frames.
Shale tiles are usually replaced by strong sheet steel and “snow retention bars“.
That’s what we chose when we restored the cottage.
Ready for winter: stored wood and cleaned vegetable patch.
We enjoy the last vegetables, before snow covers it all… Or deers eat them all!
Near our chalet, Jerusalem artichokes blossom.
Henriette who has a patch in front of the chalet already stored her potatoes.
Hay is already in the barn, as animals will soon be back.
Everything is ready for winter. Even the skiing pass websites (La Rosière and Villaroger). Resorts open in december.
